yes there are obvious reasons....like creating attack of the clones, and casting hayden christenson at all.............and keeping jar jar binks around for more than 5 minutes.......
but today, the reason is because he's suing some guy for making storm trooper costumes. now dont get me wrong i dont think people should be making money off other peoples work, but star wars is a global enterty, and people want to be a part of it. its not like george lucas is selling these costumes, and even if he did, im sure they would be a frickin fortune!
ok theres a bit more to this, the guy making the costumes, is in fact the origional designer.... who claims he has the rights to them, and only sold the actual product to lucas and not the designs. hes also claiming its industril design and not art (in any form) , and as i understand it the copyright laws are simplier in this case.
the details are irrelevant here, this guy designed the stormtroopers! he should be able to sell finisehd products based on his designs.
lucas is a bitch who got lucky on merchandise deals and made a fortune. he never expected it to make any money so dont tell me he's a great buisness man, he threw money away making the latest films, hes totally over indulgent and as soon as he sees someone else getting some of the action he jumps in.
